Melanotan II

Posted by on

Some quick facts about the peptide Melanotan II:
It carries a molecular mass of 1024.180
Has a molecular formula of C50H69N15O9
And t is sometimes referred to by the following names:
• Melanotan 2
• MT-2

But don’t confuse this peptide with the peptide Melanotan I; which has been proven to display certain predilictions in regards to its overall functionality and operational mechanics.
Melanotan II at a Glance
Based on studies conducted on animal test subjects, the over all functionality of Melanotan 2’s and it’t mechanics can be mainly traced and connected to the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is pea-sized gland located at the bottom of the hypothalamus near the base of the brain and essentially acts as the command center for the endocrine system. It is chiefly charged with the regulation and control of several system-related functions, some of which are;
• Growth
• Metabolism
• Thyroid Function
• Temperature Regulation

Melanotan II’s primary relationship to the pituitary gland can be broken down to a hormonal level- hormones secreted by the pituitary gland known as melanocortins. In essence, these particular hormones are responsible for the regulation and control of hair and skin pigmentation. They achieve this measure of control by secreting melanin.

Pramipexole

While pramipexole is used clinically (see below), its D3-preferring receptor binding profile has made it a popular tool compound for preclinical research. For example, pramipexole has been used (in combination with D2- and or D3-preferring antagonists) to interrogate the role of D3 receptor function in rodent models and tasks for neuropsychiatric disorders. Of note, it [...]

Cabergoline

Cabergoline: an ergot derivative, is a potent dopamine receptor agonist on D2 receptors. Rat studies show cabergoline has a direct inhibitory effect on pituitary lactotroph (prolactin) cells.[1] It is frequently used as a first-line agent in the management of prolactinomas due to higher affinity for D2 receptor sites, less severe side effects, and more convenient [...]
